Sat. 07/22: SISTER SF presents Dragnet – WE LIKE BOYS IX

Over the last decade, SISTER SF has provided a platform for female DJs to step behind the decks and be viewed as a DJ. no bias. SISTER is not anti-male. Sister is simply pro-female. Like many things that better with age, Sister SF has given San Francisco a party that year after year, somehow manages to top itself in both humor, entertainment, and music. For Nine years running, we’ve managed to morph some of the man-ly-ist local DJ boys around into fishnet wearing, skirt bearing blondes. We call this phenomonon: Dragnet – We Like Boys. So pull your skirt up and get over to Mighty. 8 solid Misters drag-teaming with all the resident Sisters. It’s not testosterone that makes a DJ. It’s not stilettos that break a DJ. What matters are the skills under the skirt. (Check out photos from our past drag parties)

sf weekly write-up

SF Weekly | See/Be Seen | Sisterhood Is Powerful A lot of DJs want to be a part of the Sister SF crew: The women’s DJ collective has the star power of Polywog and Forest Green and a reputation for working hard to be more than just eye candy behind the turntables. As a result, there are limits on who gets called a Sister. For women, it means proving you’ve got talent and integrity. For men, it means wearing a dress. Once a year, the gals of Sister invite brothers to perform with them — but only in drag. “Dragnet: Dude Looks Like A Lady” begins at 10 p.m. at Sublounge — Hiya Swanhuyser
