it’s been a month
since i’ve updated this thing. so much going on, i feel like i’ve barely been able to juggle everything. lets see: Amber and i went to Texas earlier this month.
She, Reid Speed and i had a gig in San Antonio. i left Just Say Agency two months ago, and this was my last gig for them. if you’re out of state & want to book me, don’t go through the agency anymore: just email me. anyways, my third visit to Texas in six months & i must say–if it hadn’t been for the first two trips to Texas, my view of the state would have been a bit different after this last trip. of course, spending less than 24 hours in a state is hardly enough to give you even so much as a taste for what it’s like. Amber and i got to meet some great new friends: Yvonne (aka Plastech Little), Josh and Keith took excellent care of us during our stay there. thanks for your hospitality & for having our backs while we were out there. i hope we can see each other again in the near future! thank goodness that Amber and i got to travel together…we had the most exhausting 36 hours: one train ride, 4 plane rides, and a drive from austin to san antonio and back. we were also in denver and phoenix. every moment throughout those 36 hours threatened to be a near-fiasco. but we managed to have fun, which is the most remarkable part. Amber and i got to catch up on a lot of time & we found out that we travel extremely well together. so that was all very cathartic. plus, got to see Reid again, and hang out for a good while. it was nice. Amber wrote a great travelogue of our adventure, entitled Big Love to the Biggest State, which you absolutely must check out! ok, what else: i built a few websites that might be of interest to you. Sister’s Portland chapter is starting up again & they needed a website, so decided to build one for them. It pretty much sticks with the familiar Sister look, except for that it uses green instead of yellow. Also, Sister SF is going on a mini Pacific North West tour at the end of May, so if you’re in Portland, come check us out on the 22nd, because the Sister SF and PDX ladies will be tearing it up all day and night! i also built a website for Canadian producer Myagi. for those of you familiar with my Basshead Battle mix, you may remember one of his tracks on there: Planetary Attack. it’s a fabulous track that didn’t leave my recordbox for a good nine month period or so. Go check out his site–Myagi’s got a TON of new material coming out this year & it’s all just ripping! watch my charts section, because you’ll find a bunch of his new material on there. other than that i’ve been sending out resumes like nobody’s business. been on the quest for a full-time job & have interviewed with several companies. i should know real soon about one of them that i’m super-excited about. so keep your fingers crossed for me! sam
